We staged our seventh biannual Musical Production to sell out audiences last week in our school hall. The children gave stunning performances of Mary Poppins to audiences of over 200 people per night for three nights. The production was so popular that an extra matinee performance was staged to cope with demand for tickets. Over 100 Primary 6 and Primary 7 children took part in the play with a choir of 38 to accompany.
The lead characters gave excellent performances in their roles as Mary, Bert and Mr and Mrs Banks. Performances from the penguins and the chimney sweeps received great applause from the sell out audiences.
The music, scenery, props and costumes added to the success of the evenings and this was due in no small part to the efforts made by parents, friends of the school and the teaching and non teaching staff of the school. Mr Moore said, "The three nights were the culmination of four months of hard work and terrific dedication shown by the pupils,staff and parents. The support we received from the local community through sponsorship and practical help has made the whole thing possible. The children have gained so much from the experience and we hope to see some of them on the big screen in later years!"
